After what seemed lightyears, ZIP is finally over. Last Friday, actually. Haha. My first actual experience as a 'squad IC' since I was APC, along with Samuel, PC, and Nabil, APC as well. I think I can work ok with them. Haha. Anyway, I learnt through the program that preparing things last minute is somehing I can get better at with practice. For starters, my first first aid lecture for the sec 1s on the topic choking (theory+practical) wasn't so well done since I couldn't get them to try the Heimlich Manoeuvre and JJ sir had to tell them to do it -.- That contributed to my ineffectiveness as a lecturer. Perhaps I hadn't established a good relationship wih the sec 1s then so they don't follow what I say at once. I also couldn't answer a question put forward by CK sir cos I was unprepared, even though I had read through the topic and found some info online. The answer was somewhere in my mind, which probably failed me at that particular time. Lol. On the third day, I had my second lecture with Syahirah on the topics penetrating chest wound, croup and asthma. The night before, I was struggling with the CC proposal which was quite easy to do but was aggravated by the fact that I had to switch between two computers. So irritating. Anyway, I was so lucky to be doing penetrating chest wound, which I did for my MOI First Aid back in Advanced. Haha. So, that lecture was quite successful cos I got them into some donut-bandage-making speed contest after I taught them how to make it. Woohoo. Too bad the presentation for asthma and croup didn't go as well cos I didnt't exactly prepare for it. Syahirah did the slides, haha. Thank you so much =)) I know you slept like, 1++ in the morning right. Hohoho. Truth to be told, the CC was quite lame since it was entirely impromptu. I think I did a halfway decent job of "hosting' since I've got some experience. Wahaha. At debrief, much of our appreciation went to the logistics head aka Meng Han, who did a lot work with his members. We all thought that ZIP, being our first project, was quite well done with much teamwork from everyone for the 3 days. It was a good experience I guess. I hope ROD will go as well, or better but...let's just see how it turns out ok... haha. 9 MORE DAYS TO MY BIRTHDAY. Which is on ROD, SO you probably won't forget. Ahem. Haha.
